Weekly Update #35 - Spent the week making audio


Yep, it’s one of those weeks where I can’t really show anything, because I’ve been working exclusively on sound design and music. That being said, it has been a very productive week, because I wrote, recorded, and produced not one, but two tracks for Seed of Life. I’m getting really close to wrapping up that first level and begin working on the next, there’s now one track left that I need to write, and still a bunch of SFXs that I need to design (most of them related to that bossfight I showed in another weekly update). Anyway, here’s the full list:

Content

  • New asset: “Mysteries of the World”, a track that’ll play during dialogs and cutscenes.
  • New asset: “That One’s Bigger”, the first boss theme which clashes heavy industrial-sounding beats with acoustic instruments.
  • New assets: All the SFXs related to the turret enemy. Most of them are sounds of machinery and hydraulic motors.

Work in progress

  • I need to finish writing the last track for the first level.
  • I started designing the sounds for the worm enemy, I’m not done yet.

Objectives for next update

  • Finish sound designing every missing SFX
  • Finish writing the last track
  • If I have the time, start working on autosave
