Weekly Update #6 - Spent the week torturing Hope


Don’t worry, no wolves were harmed during the making of this update. So, in order to make fighting enemies more interesting, I have been working on the implementation of various status condition that can occur on specific circumstances. I must admit this feature wasn’t tremendously difficult to implement, but it took some time to implement because I had to create and rig some VFXs to the characters, and also to design a couple of SFX. Anyway, some of these status effects will cause you damage, some of them will make you unable to do anything for a while, and there are a couple more with unique effects. Of course, enemies can be affected by them too. Since it’s difficult to demonstrate these effects in images, I also have prepared a little video to demonstrate them:

After having worked on these effects, I decided to take a break from coding, and started working on a couple of tracks instead. Here’s the full list:

Content

  • New Feature: Status ailments, a total of six conditions (burned, frozen, shocked, stunned, disoriented, cursed) that both the player and the enemies can suffer from.

Work in Progress

  • Music: Shine (Hope’s Theme), a variation of the main theme using mostly wind instruments
  • Music: Walk With Me (Letty’s Theme), the theme of Letty, using mostly percussion instruments
  • Music: Blinded by Reason (Raven’s Theme), the theme of one of the main characters, using mostly pinched strings

Objectives for next week

  • Finish writing, recording, mixing and mastering of the tracks I started working on
