Weekly Update #22 - Exotic place

This week I’ve been mostly working on the same subject, a city that takes heavy inspiration from ancient Taoist temples, named Phae (written on the entrance using an in-game language, Sfèr hasèr ité págo, “The sanctuary city of the Phaeries”). I took inspiration from actual, real place Taoist temples, for example the big structure on the screenshots is based on the Xianguding temple. I think I’ve learned more about Chinese architecture this week than I have in my lifetime. But here’s the full list:

Content

  • Level design: Started working on the city of Phae. Created a couple of archways, a city wall, and a big structure that will serve as a palace.

Work in progress

  • So far from done with this city. There will be houses, a central place with a couple of shops, and more archways.
  • I started to take a look at some bugs, but couldn’t write a fix in time for this update. I’ll try to take another fresh look in the coming week.

Objectives for next update

  • Keep working a little on Phae, at least create more buildings. I’ll do the interiors and the shops later.
  • Fix a couple of bugs.
