Another very productive week for Seed of Life. There’s bugfixing, new features, new assets, lots of good stuff. And the most exciting news is, the first level is now 95% complete! Here’s the full list:
Content
- New feature: Letty can now take damage from enemies, and cause a Game Over (Letty and Hope share the same health bar).
- New feature: It’s now possible to skip cutscenes by pressing start.
- New feature: Charm crystals, with their little animation, which will give you new abilities to make progress in the game.
- New scripted event: Getting Shockwave, the first charm.
- New asset: Charm crystal model and textures.
- New asset: Genesis’ field generator, which generates electric arcs on platform or other points of interest.
- New asset: Short jingle for when you discover a secret (à la Legend of Zelda).
- Bugfix: The sprint effect does no longer stay active when entering a cutscene or a scripted event while sprinting.
- Bugfix: The non-euclidian portal effects do no longer eat up performance as much.
- Bugfix: The orbweaver enemy now stays underground as it should.
Work in progress
- Still working on completing the level design for the first level, getting there.
- Started working on the first boss’ design
Objectives for next update
- Implement the Genesis’ field generator
- Complete the first boss’ design and model, maybe rigging and textures as well
- Complete what’s left to do for the first level’ level design
